On 25/9/2019, Ms Barbara Wolf, the German Consul General in Erbil, accompanied by Ms Barbara Schumacher, Consul for Political, Economic and Humanitarian Affairs, visited the premises of the Commission for Investigation & Gathering Evidence (CIGE) in Duhok and were received by Judge Ayman Mustafa, Investigating Judge and Head of CIGE.
The German Consul was briefed by Judge Ayman Mustafa on the mandate, structure and work carried out by CIGE in terms of investigations, gathering of evidence, and support provided to families of victims and disappeared. The discussion also addressed CIGE’s past and ongoing outreach efforts supported by GIZ/ZFD in IDP camps around Duhok governorate, addressing the psychosocial and legal needs of families of disappeared and of survivors of Daesh crimes.
