On 6 February 2021, CIGE joined the Yezidi community, government officials, and local and international organizations, in the burial ceremony of 104 Yezidi victims, which took place in Kocho, Sinjar.
The 104 Yezidi victims were executed in Kocho, Sinjar, in August 2014, by the hand of the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL). CIGE’s staff has been supporting the national team in the exhumation of mass graves, which started in March 2019, and continues to support survivors and families of victims of ISIL crimes in their efforts to seek truth, justice and reparations.
